Changing Your Gmail Password
Step 1: Sign In to Your Google Account
- Open a web browser and go to the Google Account sign-in page.
- Enter your Gmail email address and click "Next".
- Enter your current password and click "Next" to sign in.
Step 2: Access Security Settings
- Once signed in, you will be taken to your Google Account page.
- In the left-hand menu, click on "Security".
Step 3: Change Password
- In the Security section, scroll down to the "Signing in to Google" section.
- Click on "Password".
Step 4: Verify Identity
- You will be prompted to enter your current password again for security purposes. Enter your current password and click "Next".
Step 5: Enter New Password
- Enter your new password in the "New password" field. Make sure it is at least 8 characters long and use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Re-enter your new password in the "Confirm new password" field.
- Click "Change Password".
Step 6: Confirmation
- You will see a confirmation message that your password has been changed.
Optional: Update Password on Your Devices
- Sign out and sign back in on all devices where you use your Gmail account to ensure they are updated with your new password.
- If you use Gmail on apps or devices that do not prompt for the new password automatically, manually update the password in the account settings of those apps or devices.
